weekend inspiration: father's day

We have lots of celebrations this weekend, including Q's birthday on Friday along with other family events. With father's day on Sunday, too, here's what we've pulled together to make our dads feel special (minus the Katie Brown book, of course):

My cousin Sarah from RedRedOrange posted this free download for "Best Dad Ever" cards (she's a graphic designer & possibly one of the cooler people you will ever meet online), so I printed them off to go with pretty Weck jars from baum-kuchen. We're filling the jars with homemade jam because it was a hit last year (it's a secret recipe shh).

Oh, and we made sure to put a disclaimer in the card saying my dad and Q's dad are actually tied for #1 at being the best. We don't want any dad jealousy going on. Have a fun weekend.

Oh my gosh Alli, I am blushing :)
You can be my card photographer any time, I love it with the typewriter :)
What a sweet post, and tell Uncle Rich he is the Best Dad Ever! my husband calls him "Jerry Extreme" Since his beard is thicker, he is taller, he builds things bigger and of course has more kids and grandkiddos than my dad :) shhh dont tell Jerry!

oh my goodness, those cards are to die for! and that's so sweet that you're starting a tradition with the homemade jam. :] so, so sweet and neat. :] people should have more tradition-like things for holidays other than thanksgiving and Christmas, etc. <3

Very cool! I've got my homemade jam, or 'preserves' as they say in the South, to give to my dad too! It's his grandmother's recipe, but my mom actually is the one harboring the recipe at her house. lol. She taught me how to make 'pear honey' a couple years ago, when we made jars for all our wedding guests as favors. And like you, shh it's a secret. ;) Happy weekending!

I am looking forward to this weekend so much too, with celebrations. Have a good weekend with all the celebrations going on!

Gorgeous cards Alli - I never can find a Fathers Day card I like but I love these! Also love the idea of the jam - so simple yet so much better than the usual tat that is banded around for Fathers Day!
Wishing you a fabulous weekend xx

How adorable are those??! It's funny because it's not Father's Day here. Ours is in September. But I will have to give something similar :)
