saturday's sale

Saturday we had the yard sale, as planned. My friends and I dragged ourselves out of bed at 7, set everything up, and then made a quick porch display (to beautify things) using my kitchen stool, roses from my parents' garden, and a yellow lantern I was selling.

Above are photos I took about halfway through the day of our stuff (not including the clothes tables). We ended up selling over half of everything, until it looked like it might rain so we packed up. I was glad to give so many of my things a second home - especially wedding presents I've never used. Hooray for passing things on to strangers.

And, by the end of it all our feet were killing us! Yard sales can be a lot of work. So we treated ourselves to chinese takeout & homemade sangria, and watched Alice in Wonderland while the storms rolled in.

Your house is so pretty!

Did you guys sell a lot at the sale? I'm usually that annoying person that tries to haggle down prices if they're too high, haha. I probably would have tried to buy the pretty lights strung across your porch.

Yard sells are tons of work! You definitely treated yourselves right afterward. :) I'm so glad you had a productive day. Oh, and that is one of the prettiest little yards sells I've seen. Love the vase with flowers. :)

It's wonderful to know you had the prettiest yard sale! I can totally imagine the feeling of seeing those "once yours" items finding a second home with strangers. Well, i guess it's a good feeling after all.

And your yard is so lovely. Heh did anyone bought the yellow lantern? If not, i think you should just leave it there!

Yay! Looks like a successful yard sale, I bet it felt good to get rid of stuff. I'm starting the clean-out process now before we start our lives together. Your house is so charming, I love it! It's fun to know you're not too far in MI. We might be moving to Milwaukee. :)

PS- Glad to know I'm not the only one who knew the J.Crew model, hehe ;)

I wish I was at that sale :)) By the way, in the photo with the magazines the two on the right look like they are connected and the girl's hair continues on the second magazine. I am such a dork for noticing that :)))
