vintage books

It's fun to find interesting old things around your parents' house. Last weekend while visiting mine I noticed these two books: my Mom had her classic 1960s copy of Joy of Cooking out on the kitchen counter, and my Dad had his organic garden book from the '70s sitting by his favorite lounge chair (he is all about his garden lately). Both are so timelessly designed...vintage books are the best.

I love it. It makes me think about the movie Julie and Julia.

Yes, vintage books are the best. Pure timelessness! Love the book covers too.

They really are! I have a problem with always buying one or two when I am antique or vintage shopping. Luckily they can be really inexpensive :)

that book is sooo pretty! it's always funny to see how colorful books were back then in the US. my mom has a cookbook from england that's probably more and 60 or 70 years old and it is just as old timey as you could imagine. very stuffy looking. i love it though. old books are as awesome as new books.

This is awesome! Our copy of the Joy is pretty old but not beautiful like that! What great finds!

I have the same Joy of Cooking book. It really is great. Tested out all sorts of Joy cookies at Christmas time.

These books are awesome! I love finding oldies but goodies at my parent's house too! My mom recently gave me her set of vintage cottage country dishes, she had them stored in a box for over 25 years and now my husband and I use them everyday!
