We just returned from a fun weekend back in our hometown, celebrating some birthdays and hanging out. I wrapped up this sailboat tote bag and a cd (Joshua Radin) for my friend Allie's birthday. The tote is the first bag I've ever sewn (yay, I'm moving up from pillows!), using this tutorial from Purl Bee. It's a great project for beginning sewers and I'm already hoarding fabric and handles for more bags.

This turned out awesome Alli! Yay! I'm hoping to take a local sewing class this summer- we'll see how it goes. There's so much to learn! Glad you had a fun weekend.
This is adorable Alli. And Joshua Radin is one of my favorites:)
Hope you had a wonderful weekend~

I love that fabric! Well done!
Oh, yay for improving sewing skills! :) I can't see the whole bag but the fabric looks so pretty! And of course the wrapping <3
I just remembered that when I was in kindergarden Santa gave me a present that was wrapped to look like huge piece of candy. I loved it so much that I didn't want to ruin the packaging and spent the whole day without opening my present! :))
great fabric- i'm def. in need of more fabric selection.
love those little sailboats - what a perfect summery tote!
i love the sailboats. and what beautiful packaging, as usual :)
