books books books (and january)

For some reason, I received quite a few books from family and friends this Christmas, and as you can imagine I've been in cooking/craft heaven. And, so far this January I've been feeling more productive than most winters, thanks in part to the new ideas and inspiration.

Really, it's sort of impossible to read a book like Real Simple Solutions and not want to go and organize your entire pantry, closet, and office. It's just the motivation I needed this time of year. Have you been feeling good about the new year?

Such great gifts! I have the Jamie Oliver book and the handmade marketplace book and both are fantastic.

I really want the new Barefoot Contessa book. I think it's called "now that's easy" or something. Her recipes are so consistently good.

We LOVE Jamie's Dinners, the Chicken Gujon is one of our favorites. There is also a recipe for a breaded fish in there that is sooooo good. Enjoy Alli!

Love Jamie Oliver. He visited Stockholm during the summer in one of his shows and tried the swedish smorgasboard with schanpps. He got so drunk and even more funny!

I began with good intentions this month but seem to have slipped a little. I think I need to refocus in February.

That is an amazing collection of books and so many with inspiration too. We are just about to get Barefoot Contessa on tv here in England so I looking forward to that for new ideas.

Someone's been good this year judging by your presents :)
I love Jamie Oliver! I have seen some of his books at my local bookstore and I was wondering if I should get one. Do you recommend it?

Lucky girl! I'd love to have all those great books on my shelf! I was recently inspired to do some cleaning and organizing myself - I don't know what exactly sparked it though I do love a good Real Simple magazine!
