Have you seen The Painted Veil? It's one of my favorite films; it's a different kind of love story, and has beautiful cinematography

I haven't seen this movie yet but I did spot it at the last time I was getting a DVD out and thought I should add it to my list of 'have to see movies'. How pretty is that parasol in the first photo?! x

gorgeous movie! i heard that the screenwriter added the bit about the riots because he had heard about the occurence in china during the same time period the book is set in.

and the story is so touching. i love any story where the two characters learn to transcend their shortcomings and find something more meaningful.

I watched this movie a few weeks ago. I didn't think I would like it, but I ending up loving it! love her wardrobe in this film.
