I rarely find gems at thrift shops, but while cleaning out the spare room at my parents' house I discovered a dusty old globe (that belonged to my grandparents) and a Kodak instamatic. It's interesting to look at all of the outdated names on the globe (like French West Africa, or the Soviet Union), and I'm looking forward to getting film in that camera. My dad said it was put to good use back in the day!

Really cool finds - I won't be unearthing anything quite that delightful at my parents' house
wow, that is definitely interesting to see how our world has changed since then. I can't wait to see the photos you take with that handsome camera! I need to hunt for one now!
I love globes that still have most of eastern Europe as one nation. I feel like that is something that is historic and interesting. This summer I took some of my things that I had left at my mom's house and some extra treats like a orange leather antique ottoman. But that camera and globe are quite the scores. :)
How awesome! There are always lots of hidden treasures in the dusty corners of my parents' house :-)
My mom keeps wanting to go through all the books in their house and I am worried she'll do it while I'm still living abroad. I need to be there to collect all the children's books and classics that we loved as kids so I can read and share them with my own children.
These finds are the best! I love digging through my parents' and grandparents' old things, you never know what you might find. :)
Those are some great finds! I have always wanted a globe to display at home. It must be the history teacher in me. :)
How awesome!! Lovely finds <3
Great finds!!
I love 'discovering' old things in my parents attic/house, too. :)
Totally jealous of your finds;)
Can't wait to see what you do with it!
Great finds! I can't wait to see the photos you're going to take with that Kodak.
Oooooh, that instamatic is like candy to my soul!
