Every Fourth of July, we go to the Field of Flight air show (this year, it fell on the weekend before the holiday). The airport runway is right between our base and the fairgrounds, so we're able to watch the show for free from a grassy field on base.
They set up tents, a little concession stand, a sprinkler for the kids (it was a sunny 95 degrees - oh yeah), and speakers to hear audio from the civilian side where the fair & show is being put on.
Sometimes, the Blue Angels fly for the finale, and this year it was the Air Force Thunderbirds. It's always amazing to see and experience their level of talent; I have so much respect for the pilots and their families. Till next year!

That looks so cool - my grandfather was the biggest fan of airshows and we went to them all the time when I was younger
I love your pictures!
What a fun event. My favorite shot is the first of the hot air balloons; I wish I was in one.
super cool, alli. I've always had a particular affinity towards pilots.
