It didn't take me long after introducing the new site to make even more changes to the blog (it is an addiction, I tell you). And so, I thought I'd pass along a few tips & tutorials that I found helpful along the way, for anyone else like me who is web-design challenged (or just curious), because I know I am always interested in how things are done. So, here is part one (the very basics):
-using a custom domain through blogger.
-removing the navbar and the border/box shadows from images.
-removing the bullets from sidebar lists.
-changing the post header's color.
-further customizing the post header (making bold, uppercase, etc.)
-customizing the footer 'older-newer posts' links.
-adding and customizing a search bar.
Part 2 I'll post about adding side-by-side images, sidebar spacing, and other simple stuff I never knew. (photo taken in rhode island)

Oh now this is going to be good! Going to look through all these tips this weekend, Alli. Thank you!!!
Oh my gosh, this post has been so helpful! I've been scratching my head about these design changes for my blog for weeks, I had no idea how to attempt the CSS without messing it all up. Will definitely use these links, thanks!
Thank you for this! I've hated that border box shadow thing for so long and now it's gone! Looking forward to the next post :)
Very cool that you're posting tips. I only wish it was wordpress since I made the switch! It's looking even better over here, Alli! xo
Thank you! I have been trying to remove the bullets from my list forever. As it turns out - it was so easy.
OMG, I love you. When I find a free second, I'm putting all of this to use.
Thanks! It´s really helpful!

Thank you for the post Alli! I'm learning though that the saying, "Good things come with time," is true! I will continue to try until I have success! Thanks again! Your blog is looking lovely.
Hi! Thanks for the tutorial on this! I have already instituted a few on my blog. But I have additional questions.
I noticed you have an icon in the address bar, rather than the blogger "B". How do you do this?
Also, in the post header, your date is off to the right of the title, I like that.
2 more things..
How do you get your images so large. I attach mine at the "large" setting, but its never this big!
And the links on the sidebar are images (cute ones, too), how do I do that?
Thanks for your help!!! I love your blog!
Hi Swash + A Sprinkle, thanks for asking, I'm planning a Pt 2 post (hopefully soon) that will cover most of these. As for the address bar icon, it's a Favicon that can be uploaded under Design in the Blogger dashboard; and post images can be made larger by dragging them with your mouse (or going to Edit Html within the post & typing in the Width & Height px). Hope that helps!
I enjoyed reading through your posting. I need to say that it was the 1st article on your blog I genuinely enjoyed and in which I had a feeling of agreement, know what I mean? Must Be keep the posting and I will be back once again.

Looking forward to part two!
I love the type on the photo! What's it called?
