martin + osa

Over the weekend I went (for the first time) to the clothing & apparel store Martin + Osa (a brand inspired by these awesome world travelers). The displays had me hooked: brightly colored clothes paired with rugged shoes and jackets, promotional posters with a safari-travel vibe, and the entire store styled perfectly to fit the theme. : )

I'm not sure about the quality and fit of their clothing yet, and their website isn't as impressive as the store, but overall the brand definitely inspires me. I'll be going back soon. Have you been?

I think I recently visited this store in Atlanta. I loved it, but will have to go back when I am not preggers. I think they said they were owned by American Eagle, but you wouldn't know it.

they are owned by american eagle, definitely. but i read recently that they were actually planning to "liquidate" the company by july of this year. here's one article with the news: http://www.costar.com/news/Article.aspx?id=9B4FE04E18CCFACE148C24231A60C106 sad, because the clothes really are so cute :-(

I knew they were owned by AE but didn't realize they might be liquidated. Thanks for the info.

I am new to this store. I definitely like the concept built on travelers, says a lot about the ease and comfort of their clothing!

This is the first I have heard of it. I love relaxed pieces like this.

What's funny is that I was browsing their site, and thinking, this stuff looks like AE for grownups, awesome! then, confirming my suspicions, I found the A&E logos at the bottom on the page!

After all your posts here, I'm itching even more to go on a safari. It looks like that is something you'd like to do as well.

Alli - I have shopped this store since it first opened 3 years ago and am SO SAD that it's closing. I have worked in fashion/retail for over 15 years and can honestly say the quality of the apparel, footwear and accessories at M+O is excellent. Have you tried the denim?? I'm so disappointed in AE for closing this division after such a short time and so little marketing effort.

Anyway, I wrote about them just today and stumbled across your blog soon after - thanks for recognizing a wonderful brand even in its last days. sigh
